Ms. Aisling Reast appointed as the Director & National Co-ordinator of APPEL

Professors' Anne Marie Healy (TCD), Stephen Byrne (UCC) and Paul Gallagher (RCSI) are pleased to announce the appointment of Ms. Aisling Reast as the Director & National Co-ordinator of the Affiliation for Pharmacy Practice Experiential Learning (APPEL).

Aisling Reast
Aisling registered as a pharmacist in 1999, and obtained her MSc in Community Pharmacy in 2014. Her pharmacy practice experience includes six years as a pharmacy owner, and employment with both independent pharmacies and multiples. She has held several positions in healthcare education, pharmacy practice development, continuing professional development and programme management including at the Irish Centre for Continuing Pharmacy Education, Trinity College Dublin, the Irish Pharmacy Union, the Pharmaceutical Society of Ireland and, since 2014, as Director of Operations at the Irish Institute of Pharmacy. She is currently undertaking a MSc in Leadership, has a diploma in public relations and certificates in assessment and quality assurance of the assessment process. She is a Director and past President of the Pharmacy Benevolent Fund.

Aisling takes up this Directorship on Monday 5th of September.The Board of APPEL, the APPEL Team of Mr. Michael Cresswell (Programme Manager), Dr. Maria Donovan & Ms. Joanne Nally (UCC-Practice Educators), Ms Michelle Keaveney (RCSI-Practice Educator) & Dr. Theo Ryan (TCD-Practice Educator) together with the staff of the three Schools look forward to working and collaborating with her for the advancement of pharmacy education.
